Jakarta, 2 November 2023 – PT MD Picture Tbk (Film) through the MD Entertainment foundation collaborates with PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (Adaro) through the Adaro Foundation to implement the #LayarRakyatIndonesia (Indonesian People’s Screen) program with the aim of providing social assistance in the form of basic food packages and free entertainment/film shows for underprivileged communities in Jabodetabek.
The social assistance was handed over directly by the CEO of MD Entertainment & Trustee of the MD Entertainment Foundation Manoj Punjabi and the Commissioner of PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk & Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Commissioners of the Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation (YABN) Muhammad Effendi in Setiabudi, Jakarta (2/11).
This program is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program from PT MD Pictures Tbk (FILM) and the Adaro Foundation, which aims to help ease the burden on underprivileged communities in meeting their basic daily needs and promote national films among the community, so that MD Pictures can realizing its commitment to support the government in hosting national films in its own country.
Manoj Punjabi, Trustee of the MD Entertainment Foundation said, “Through the Layar Rakyat Indonesia program, we show our commitment as the best film company in Indonesia to promote film hosting in our own country. “We provide underprivileged communities with the best experience in cinemas to watch Indonesian films.”
This activity began with the distribution of basic food packages to 300 underprivileged families in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta and continued with watching The Story of the Land of Java together with 1000 people.
President Director of PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk Garibaldi Thohir said,
“We welcome this positive collaboration, which is also in line with the objectives of the “Adaro Hidukan Hati” program in the context of Adaro’s 31st anniversary to help our brothers and sisters who have difficulty meeting their daily needs. So we interpret this birthday as a moment to share with brothers and sisters who need help. “We hope that this assistance can help ease the burden on the beneficiaries.”
Through this shared vision, PT MD Pictures and the Adaro Foundation continue to provide real benefits and positive impacts for society, where Adaro’s ‘Live Your Heart’ program aims to ease the burden on underprivileged communities.
Likewise, the #LayarRakyatIndonesia program aims to provide opportunities for families in need (pre-prosperous) to enjoy quality film shows.
In implementing this program, PT MD Pictures and Adaro also collaborated with the IDN Foundation and Rumah Zakat as implementing partners in terms of publication and also procurement of basic food packages. More than that, the #LayarPeopleIndonesia Program is also supported by relevant stakeholders, especially actors in the Indonesian film industry consisting of film producers, directors, actors and others.
The hope is that this collaboration can further strengthen social solidarity and increase concern and empathy for others. More than that, we hope that this initiative can provide inspiration for many parties to continue sharing with the people in their environment.
