Indonesian production company MD Entertainment has unveiled its latest project, Bismillah, Kunikahi Suamimu. Producer Manoj Ponjabi said he was interested in the title because of its controversial nature, predicting audiences would be curious about its content. Despite its provocative theme of polygamy, Ponjabi said the film aims to entertain as well as offer insights into the realities of many households. The film shows what it is like to be in a family where the husband has multiple spouses, and although the subject matter is controversial, Ponjabi adds that the film’s message is ultimately one of sacrifice and generosity. This message makes the film relatable to Indonesian audiences, who he said will find the subject matter close to home. The film’s controversial subject matter belies a deeper message of positive personal transformation, he added.
