Telkom Wants to Merge Data Center Business, UNVR’s Profit Drops!


Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Closing trading last weekend, the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) ended in positive territory with quite massive foreign investor buying.

IDX data noted that the JCI closed higher by 0.16% to a level of 6,643.73 points with a transaction value of IDR 14.46 trillion on Friday (22/10).

Foreign market players made net purchases of IDR 1.18 trillion. Since the beginning of the year, net purchases on the domestic stock exchange have reached IDR 36.39 trillion.

1.Telkom Opens Data Center Merger, Target 2-3 Years!

The management of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) explained to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) regarding a number of questions about the company’s data center merger plan.

In his answer to the IDX, Andi Setiawan, Telkom’s VP Investor Relations, said that the company is currently in the process of deepening or studying to consolidate all data center businesses in the company.

2.Tigor Siahaan Suddenly Resigned as President Director & CEO of CIMB Niaga

President Director and CEO of PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk, Tigor M Siahaan, tendered his resignation from his position on 21 October 2021.

“In accordance with applicable regulations and the Company’s Articles of Association, ratification of the application will be decided at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) which will be held in the near future,” said Head of Marketing, Brand & Customer Experience, Toni Darusman, Friday (22/ 10/2021).

Toni also revealed that the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Board of Commissioners had started the process of selecting a replacement for Tigor Siahaan.

3. Issuer Choking on Debt, Borrowing IDR 150 Billion from the Solo Conglomerate

PT Bukit Darmo Property Tbk (BKDP) announced that the company borrowed IDR 150 billion from a wealthy businessman from Solo. The conglomerate is Endang Lestari Pujiastusti.

Based on information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the company stated that it had signed a loan agreement on March 2, 2021. “The loan value of IDR 150 billion will be used mostly by the company to pay off loans to third parties that are due,” Bukit Darmo’s management wrote.

Based on the regulation of the Financial Services Authority (POJK) No. 42 of 2020, transactions made by the company are included in affiliated transactions. Because the lender is the Main Commissioner of Bukit Darmo.

4. Profit of Allo Bank owned by CT shot up 77% in Q3 to IDR 85.73 billion

The banking issuer controlled by PT Mega Corpora owned by national businessman Chairul Tanjung, PT Allo Bank Indonesia Tbk (BBHI) managed to record an increase in interest income and net profit in the third quarter of this year.

According to the financial report published on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) website, Allo Bank’s net profit was recorded to have increased 77.16% on an annual basis (year on year/yoy) to IDR 85.73 billion, from net profit in the same period in 2020 of IDR 48.39 billion.

The growth in net profit was supported by an increase in interest income of 98.56% on a yoy basis from IDR 123.76 billion on 30 September 2020 to IDR 245.73 billion at the end of September 2021.

5. Working on coal, issuer Hary Tanoe gets 2 new investors

An aviation company owned by businessman Hary Tanoesoedibjo (Hary Tanoe), PT Indonesia Transport & Infrastructure Tbk (IATA) recently got new investors, namely Literati Capital Investments Limited and Yaris International Ltd.

These two investors entered the company through Capital Increase Without Pre-emptive Rights (PMTHMETD) alias private placement by absorbing 718,147,000 shares with a nominal value of IDR 50.

This private placement was held on October 19, 2021 and was executed at a price of Rp. 50/share, so the company received fresh funds of Rp. 35.90 billion.

6. Unilever’s Performance Has Not Recovered, Q3 Profits Still Dropped 19%

Consumer goods issuer, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR), posted a net profit for the first 9 months of this year of IDR 4.37 trillion.

This acquisition recorded a decrease of 19.31% from the same period the previous year of IDR 5.43 trillion. This decrease caused UNVR’s basic earnings per share to fall to Rp 115 per share from last September’s Rp 143 per share.

From January to September 2021, the company recorded net sales of IDR 30.02 trillion, down 7.47% from the previous year of IDR 32.45 trillion.

7. Tencent Becomes a New Investor for Issuer FILM Manoj Punjabi

Film issuer Manoj Punjabi, PT MD Pictures Tbk (FILM) stated that currently, Tencent Holdings Ltd., a Chinese tech ‘giant’, has become one of the minority shareholders in MD Pictures.

This was conveyed by the management of MD Pictures in an information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This investment shows that Tencent has a positive view of the content industry in Indonesia as well as strong confidence in the market leadership and growth potential of MD Pictures.

Manoj Punjabi, Founder & CEO of MD Pictures, also responded positively to the entry of Tencent as a new investor in FILM.

“This investment reflects Tencent’s ongoing commitment as a cutting-edge technology company to develop the content industry globally,” he said, quoted Friday (22/10/2021).
