How did you first join series Mother Elephant?
Tika Panggabean: “In the beginning, Acho was actually the first to contact me. He said he had a wrong story rolesIt's just right to be played by me, namely Mamak Uli, a person single mother from one child whose name is Ira.”
How was the experience of being directed by Muhadkly Acho?
Tika Panggabean: “Very happy. So I follow Acho on Instagram, and I always see him often making funny, creative, very expressive content. I am also one of the viewers of Acho's films. When Acho invited me to play at series At this point, I was like, “Huh, are you serious, Cho?” Finally we met, chatted directly. Acho assured me that I could. After walking, it turns out to be fun. Acho is a detailed person, yes. So he doesn't just create scripts and directs us, but helps us interpret scripts. I think his expression is like this, his way of speaking is like this, like that.”
How does Tika Panggabean deepen her character as Mamak Uli?
Tika Panggabean: “This is actually really funny because I'm not married yet and have a child as big as Ira, right? But if you think about it, if I had married first, the child would have been more or less Ira's age, lah. So, I try by reading scriptsAcho's, I incorporated the character Mamak Uli into myself. Apart from that, I also asked Acho a lot about what Acho wanted to be like. So, equalize your perception. It's true that Acho chats most of the time apart from building chemistry with Marshandayes, which in this case is my child.”
What do you think about getting married at the right age?
Tika Panggabean: “Getting married at any age is a choice. One, the person's choice and two, the path of life that has been outlined by God. Actually it's not a problem. Marriage, right, should come from yourself, marrying the person you feel is right. The candidate also felt he was the right person. It's best if it doesn't come from what other people say. If people say anything, well, don't think about it, right, people's way of life is different. So, it's fine as long as it doesn't hurt other people, yourself, and most importantly you are happy. If he's happy with his condition, why not?
What is something that is in your character, but is the opposite of who you are?
Tika Panggabean: “Mamak Uli is that person pushy really, yes, likes to force things, wants to win by himself, doesn't like to listen to what people say, especially his son, Ira. Everything he does must be obeyed by Ira. Honestly, it's the complete opposite to Tika. I always free other people around me to do whatever—do whatever you want to do. Mostly I just give my opinion, and that's as best as I can if I'm asked. If I'm not asked, I just keep quiet, or give a thin opinion, lah. It's the opposite there. I'm a person who doesn't like being forced, doesn't like defending opinions. In fact, I always try to listen to other people's opinions, because, right, different heads, different hearts, different output-his.”

Tika Panggabean: “I did, from the start reading often invites Caca to chat. In my opinion, Caca is an artist who has traveled widely, yes, especially in the world of acting. So for me, in some ways, Caca is much more experienced. I also talked about many things, about life, our fears about our respective roles. So more or less like that. For me, in the past, usually if I have a co-star who is my child, that's for sure from day one When I met him, I immediately considered him my son. As much as possible, I immediately call myself Mamak, call him (Marshanda) Ira, use it son that's what he called. So, consider him my son, and so does he.”
If you have a relative who looks cool like Ira, what would you do?
Tika Panggabean: “It doesn't matter, I'll just be indifferent. For example, my family just doesn't care. My mom neat really dressed up, old people, really. When photographed, she doesn't want to wear a negligee or dress carelessly. But his daughters are inclined tomboy and ignorant. So, when my environment doesn't demand anything, I don't want to demand anything either. If someone is as ignorant as Ira, that makes him happy and be confident, yes, go ahead. At least I have a little concerns to health problems. For example, I said “Whatever style you want, please take care of your health.” Because that is our main capital in getting through our days. Because, I'm in too learning process to consistently maintain health.”

Have you ever had an experience like Ira who was forced to change your appearance?
Tika Panggabean: “It's no coincidence, isn't it? My own mother never forced us to dress up in any way. He was really democratic, letting me develop on my own. What he always reminds me of most is to take care of my health. Maybe my mother is a little fussy when it comes to receptions, to church, right? sis Don't be too careless about wearing sandals—it's polite clothing. Yes, standard, that's it. But, never forced anything. My mother is really fun, lah!”
What are the difficulties for Tika Panggabean in playing the character Mamak Uli?
Tika Panggabean: “There are several dialogues that are quite long and here I have to play the role of mothers who spent their childhood and teenage years in the village. So, the accent is carried over, even though it is not as thick as that of people who live in the village, but, yes, the name is born, grew up, so the accent is always carried over, right. So that's what's sometimes difficult, that the way you speak still has to have the original Batak accent. “It's difficult, it's easy, even though I'm a native Batak, I was born and raised in Jakarta, so I have to be consistent with that.”
What do you get from playing Mamak Uli?
Tika Panggabean: “What I got is one thing, parents definitely want the best for their children. Sometimes he is strict with his son, he forces him, because he has a different background. But it turns out A child, right, develops from a child to a teenager, to an adult, then when he becomes an adult, he becomes a complete human being.. He has choices, aspirations, dreams that his parents cannot continue to dictate. This is also what I want to convey in series this, that we Parents have fears, but children have their own way of life. He will also be responsible for his choices. His life path is already set. Maybe we parents need to worry, advise yes, force no. Because whatever choice he chooses, as long as it doesn't conflict too extreme, even if there are mistakes, he will actually learn.”
A message that really touches everyone who reads it, don't you think? From the message conveyed by Tika Panggabean after playing the character Mamak Uli di series Mother Elephant, you can learn a lesson, here.
That parents and children may have different principles, but it would be better as a parent not to always force the child's will, because children certainly have their own choices and paths in life, after all, they will continue to develop.
