TABLOIDBINTANG.COM – The film KKN Di Desa Penari surpassed two million viewers in six days. From Saturday (30/4) to Friday (6/5) it was recorded that the film produced by MD Pictures had been watched by 2,010,137 spectators. This number can increase again until the Eid holiday ends on May 8 tomorrow.
Manoj Punjabi as the producer of MD Pictures admitted that he was grateful that his film had achieved success during this year’s Eid holiday. Moreover, KKN in the Dancer Village was postponed twice due to the pandemic.
However, Manoj Punjabi also deplored cinema entrepreneurs, especially Cinepolis, which did not support local films to succeed in their own country.
“I am grateful, grateful to be able to get a big interest. I am very grateful. But it’s a shame that the cinema does not support it, especially Cinepolis,” said Manoj Punjabi to tabloid bintang.com Saturday (7/5).
Manoj Punjabi, found facts that in several Cinepolis cinemas the screen area for the film KKN Di Desa Penari was reduced. Precisely replaced with the Marvel film, Doctor Strange.
In fact, seeing the interest of the people in the area who want to watch KKN in the Dancer Village is very large. Manoj also feels that Cinepolis is unfair because it is more concerned with foreign products than showing domestic films.
“Shared the screen with Doctor Strange. Even so, he really defended Strange. We were ostracized, instead of defending national films, instead of defending western films, the results are the same, the good results are the same, that’s crazy. That’s the problem,” explained Manoj Punjabi.
“Reduced (while showing evidence). That’s proof, this is crazy. Cinepolis, yes. There’s evidence, yes, at the same time, all of us are full on Wednesday, Thursday we play Doctor Strange, he gives us a double screen, we reduce it from 2 to 1, from 3 becomes 1, Doctor Strange is given 4,” added Manoj Punjabi, explaining the KKN tickets in the Dancer Village which were selling well but were limited.
This made Manoj, as a local film entrepreneur, furious. Even the reason for Cinepolis reducing the KKN screen in the Dancer Village is considered unreasonable.
“In many areas. He said Strange is better. If you have a film, you will definitely drop it, how do you know? If we are the same? He said we won’t replace it. If you want to include Dr. Strange, you have to reduce it by 1, not 2. This is really arrogance for Cinepolis, “concluded Manoj Punjabi.
KKN Di Desa Penari is a film adaptation of the phenomenal story and best selling novel by Simpleman, directed by Awi Suryadi, starring Tissa Biani, Adinda Thomas, Achmad Megantara, Aghniny Haque, Calvin Jeremy, M Fajar Nugraha, Kiki Narendra, Aulia Sarah.
